DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, 25 June- Central Asian CDMA Forum (CACF) conducted a professional training session on 3G technology UMTS/WCDMA between 21st to 25th June at the Asia Grand Hotel, Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The event was actively supported by QUALCOMM Incorporated and was attended by local UMTS operators.
According to Dr. Ismail Shah, Trainer, executive director of CACF and head of CDMA HR Development Centre, ‘The main objective of the training program was to improve the technical skill level of the engineering professionals of the 3G operators in the country.’ The sessions were attended by technical professionals from Babilon-M, MLT and Indigo, leading UMTS/WCDMA operators in Tajikistan. |
Dr Shah has conducted wireless technology trainings around the globe, especially in 3G technologies. The trainees from various companies appreciated the effort of the CACF and QUALCOMM Inc. in sharing knowledge and resources to better equip the operators in the region. Khalid Khan, director 3gca, said that “the training has helped them understand the WCDMA technology better and they shall use this knowledge base for growth of 3G based wireless networks for their company ensuring better deployment of network and services.’ |
The courses conducted included the following modules:
- UMTS/WCDMA Physical Layer
- UMTS/WCDMA Radio Interface Protocols
- WCDMA HSDPA: Protocols and Physical Layer
The training session was part of the series of training sessions being planned by Central Asian CDMA Forum and QUALCOMM Inc., for development of human resource in the region.
The organizers hailed the training sessions as a ‘great success’ in providing an opportunity to the country’s UMTS/WCDMA mobile operators to learn more about the WCDMA technology. At the conclusion of the training session certificates were awarded to successful attendees by Dr. Syed Ismail Shah.
