Central Asian CDMA Forum in collaboration with IQRA University Islamabad inaugurated the 01st of its kind CDMA technology Human Resource development center in the country.  Speaking on the occasion Dr. Syed Ismail Shah, founder of Pakistan CDMA forum informed that the centre shall cater for the CDMA/WCDMA HR requirement not only for Pakistan but the whole region. He informed that due to the rapid developments in  local telecommunication industry there is a requirement of approximately 1500 CDMA and around 1700 WCDMA professional annually. The centre offer courses on the pattern that is followed by CDMA University in the USA and the cost of these courses has been significantly subsidized i.e. by more than 90% so that Pakistani engineers and operators can benefit from the programme.

The centre was formally inaugurated by Mr. Pertti Johansson, President of QUALCOMM, who was on his visit to Pakistan and the company that introduced CDMA technology. He appreciated the role of Central Asian CDMA Forum in promoting the latest 3G CDMA wireless technology and the establishment of the centre. He promised QUALCOMM’s support in developing the centre further.  The inauguration ceremony was attended by telecom professionals and member of the academia. Mr. Nooruddin Baqai, from the Ministry of IT & Telecom also addressed the participants.
